Life Balance

As a woman, you lead a very rich and complex life and demand a lot from yourself and of others. If you are like most women, chances are you feel that at any given point one part of your life is fine while another is under-served and another isn’t even on the radar.

You’re not alone. Estimates place the national cost for stress-induced loss of effectiveness and efficiency at over $150 billion annually.* And for women the stresses have a higher cost, their careers. More and more women leave corporate America every year seeking greater control of their lives, their work and their time.

So, just what does freedom look like for you?

Think about what you need in each of these areas of life – what I call my High Fives !

To be appreciated and recognized . . . to be rewarded fairly . . . to have the resources needed to do your work well . . . to have the opportunities you deserve . . . to work without worrying about what you’re NOT doing . . . to fulfill that most basic need to make a difference . . . to be a “success.”

To know the self . . . to find your joy for living . . . to have quiet time for reflection and renewal . . . to nurture the very best you have to offer . . . to draw strength and sustenance . . . to turn down the volume and find the healing power of silence . . . to find a fresh perspective . . . to tell your “truth.”

To feel energized and invigorated . . . to rest the body and nourish it . . . to experience the healing luxury of touch . . . to eat with freedom and joy . . . to make choices that support you . . . to balance the emotions . . . to use the mind . . . to breathe life in . . . to breathe stress out . . . to feel at “home” in your own skin.

To nourish the connection with others . . . to feel loved and supported . . . to give and to receive . . . to be present in your relationships . . . to experience intimacy . . . to value privacy . . . to nurture each other’s growth . . . to appreciate the wisdom of elders . . . to do it all and not lose the “self.”

To revel in the freedom of your own expression . . . to curl up and read a great book . . . to finger paint . . . to write your stories . . . to sing at the top of your lungs . . . to dance to your own drummer . . . to laugh long and well . . . to find again the well-spring of your creativity . . . to win at the game of “life.”

Your life is multidimensional and, at different times, each of these dimensions or components demands more time and attention than another. As a woman, you might be an executive, care-giver, manager, dancer, wife, lover, mother, writer, artist, volunteer, sister, daughter, mentor and so much more. But without a healthy, balanced self at the center, there is no stability – there is only frenzy .

You learn how to say “NO” as you practice setting limits.

But the real trick is in learning how to say “YES” first to your own dreams.

Join me in moving from frenzy to freedom. I can show you how!

Client Testimonials

I saw Cathleen on several different occasions for a variety of settings including counseling, professional coaching and spiritual development. Cathleen’s loving, kind and patient guidance helped me through many transitions in my life including loss of a parent, major career and life transitions and my own severe physical illness. I found working with Cathleen to be one of the great advancements in my understanding my self image and my own journey. She continually helped me be more aware of what my body was trying to tell me and to connect me to the physical, emotional and spiritual sides of myself while aiding me in becoming aware of my own role in my healing.
